Expert Medical Coordination for Your Plastic Surgery Journey
How to find a safe plastic surgery facility in Mexico.
We can help you find a board certified doctor.
Nearly 500,000 plastic surgery procedures are performed in Mexico each year, by an estimated 1,634 plastic surgeons. This makes
Mexico the fourth most popular country in the world in plastic and aesthetic surgery.
Thousands of Americans cross the border each year for medical procedures. If you are considering going to Mexico for plastic surgery, you may feel a little anxious. That is perfectly normal. Choosing a plastic surgeon is not a decision that should be taken lightly.
There may be confusion about what to look for. How to know if a surgeon is qualified? How do you know that the surgery will be safe?
The Mexican Council of surgeons is a government organization that certifies plastic surgeons every five years based on continued education, courses, and scientific enovation; In other words, they never stop learning and being updated, this makes them academically and scientifically up to date and certified, this ensures that you are with the best plastic surgeons and reliable clinics located in Mexico.
Are all plastic surgeons in Mexico safe? NO! I was surprised by what I learned in Mexico. After talking to many certified surgeons, I discovered that almost anyone can claim to be a plastic surgeon.
Some doctors train for 5 years in general medicine and then take a cheap course in plastic surgery. Then they call themselves a qualified plastic surgeon.
It is possible to perform a liposuction course without having received training to become a doctor and some of these courses can be done online. Becoming a plastic surgeon is expensive and time-consuming.
Many doctors take these courses to reduce the costs of proper accreditation and avoid the years of necessary practice.
This can have disastrous consequences. Many patients go to surgeons who offer surgeries at reduced prices who do not have the proper training or experience.
This does not mean that all plastic surgeons in Mexico are unsafe. It does not mean that you can not find a good quality plastic surgeon.
